SmartTech Insurance Brokers LLP ("SmartTech Insurance", "we", "us", or "our") operates the SmartTech AI Insurance Advisor platform, including its website and AI chat assistant (together, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use the Service, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

Information we collect

We collect information in the following ways:

• Information you provide directly — your name, mobile number and email address, either typed into the chat or provided when signing in (email + one-time passcode); the details you share to get an insurance quote or ask a coverage question (for example age, city/pincode, family composition, sum insured, and existing policy details for a portability request); and anything else you type into the chat.
• Account and session information — your email address, sign-in timestamps, and your conversation history if you create an account, so you can resume a past conversation.
• Usage information — pages visited, approximate location inferred from your IP address (used only to enforce fair-usage limits on anonymous chat use), browser/device type, and general interaction data.
• Voice input — if you use the microphone button, your speech is transcribed to text by your own browser before it reaches us; we never receive or store raw audio.

How we use your information

• To generate insurance quotes and premium estimates from the insurers we work with.
• To answer your questions about insurance coverage, benefits, claims and network hospitals, grounded in insurer policy documents.
• To maintain your account, remember your chat history, and let you resume a conversation.
• To contact you about a quote or query you've raised, including over WhatsApp if you've reached our free-usage limit and asked to speak with a human advisor.
• To detect and prevent abuse, fraud and automated misuse of the Service.
• To comply with applicable law and the regulatory requirements that apply to us as an IRDAI-licensed insurance broker.

Who we share your information with

We share information only where it's necessary to provide the Service:

• Insurers— the details you provide to get a quote are submitted to the relevant insurer's own quotation system to generate a real premium figure.
• AI and infrastructure providers — your chat messages are processed by our AI model provider to understand your request and generate a response; email delivery (for sign-in codes) and bot-protection checks are handled by our email and security service providers. These providers process data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.
• Legal and regulatory bodies — where required by law, or to respond to a valid request from IRDAI or another competent authority.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

Data retention

We retain account and chat history for as long as your account is active, so you can resume past conversations. You can ask us to delete your account and associated data at any time using the contact details below; we'll retain the minimum information required to meet our legal and regulatory record-keeping obligations as a licensed insurance broker.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures — including encrypted connections, access controls, and one-time-passcode sign-in rather than stored passwords — to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Cookies and local storage

The Service uses cookies and browser local storage to keep you signed in, remember chat preferences, and understand how the Service is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling them may affect parts of the Service.

Your rights

You may ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to stop contacting you, by writing to us at the email address below. We will respond within a reasonable time.
